Photographed: "Cosmogram" by artist Ian Robertson Salt. "'Cosmogram' is an alternative interpretation of the structure of the universe. Ancient Native American cultures from the Mississippi Valley region viewed the world in three realms: the celestial, terrestrial, and underworld. The first realm is depicted in the upper section of this drawing represented by a series of human irises that also represent the cosmos. The second realm is represented by a piece of sacred Earth that features the struggle of survival between animals of varying symbolism. The third realm, the underworld, is represented at the bottom of the piece by an industrial landscape this landscape represents the determinal destruction of the Earth by human constructs. This piece illustrates an attempt to awaken consciousness of ancient knowledge and sacred symbolism."

Photographed: "Red, White and Blue" the artist Lynda A.N. Reyes. "'Red, White and Blue' an oil portrait of my son inspired by a mother's love. The title of the painting is based on a skipping rope verse most common in the Philippines: 'Red, white and blue, stars you, Mama said, Papa said I love you.' I used to recite that when I was a young girl while playing skipping rope. Now I recited again and again as I look at the painting of Allen, for he is a man now. 'Red, white and blue, stars you, Mama said, Papa said I love you.'"
