Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is both a milestone and a responsibility.

Today we honor history, celebrate resilience, and continue the work of building a more equitable future.

Natalie wasn’t sure what came next after high school—just that she wanted to go to college.

At CCV, she found the flexibility and support to find her path into healthcare. She earned her associate degree and graduated debt-free with help from 802 Opportunity.

She now works as a medical assistant and is transferring to Vermont State University's nursing program through the Vermont Transfer Guarantee.

How often does a Vermont State alum land a Taylor Swift song credit for a major summer blockbuster?

Meet Cam Gilfoy ’19, a Vermont State Lyndon Music Business & Industry graduate with an assistant engineer mixing credit on “I Knew It, I Knew You,” featured on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack.

His advice says it all: “Be kind. Be friendly. Show up. Work hard. Make friends.”

Rural Vermont shapes the Vermont State University experience, with four of our five campuses located on hilltops and vistas in small VT towns.

With support from a $386,780 SerVermont grant for 2025–2026, Vermont Rural Learning Collective AmeriCorps members are expanding educational initiatives and local food access, reaching more than 4,000 K–12 students this year.

In the nation’s most rural state, with a strong focus on the Northeast Kingdom, that work is essential.

LYNDON — Rural Vermont has a constant presence at Vermont State University (VTSU), where four of its five campuses sit on hilltops and vistas around smaller Vermont towns.
