Alumni, you’re always welcome back for chapel.

One of the rhythms that continues to shape life at Simpson is our twice-weekly chapel gathering. This fall, students are gathering on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:20–11:20 a.m., with pastors, faculty, ministry leaders, alumni, and others helping lead us through our fall theme, “Encounters with Jesus: The Gospel of John, Chapters 1–12.”

If you’re ever in Redding or simply passing through, stop by and join us for chapel. And while you’re on campus, feel free to stop by the Alumni Office too, we’d love to say hello, catch up for a few minutes, and we always have a small alumni gift ready for visitors.

Our Largest Enrollment Ever.
Still Unapologetically Christian.

There’s a lot worth celebrating at Simpson right now.

This fall, Simpson welcomed the largest traditional undergraduate enrollment in our 106-year history.

But as an alumnus myself, there’s another part of this story I especially want alumni to hear:

As Simpson grows, our mission has not changed.

We remain a Christ-centered university, rooted in our Christian & Missionary Alliance heritage and committed to being a “Gateway to World Service”. Our students encounter faculty who intentionally integrate faith and learning, a community shaped by Christian convictions, and an invitation to know Christ more deeply and live lives of meaningful work and service.

President Norm Hall put it well in announcing this milestone: Simpson remains “distinctly Christian in our mission.”

More students walking through our doors means more students we have the opportunity to teach, mentor, disciple, and prepare to serve Christ and their communities.

That’s something worth celebrating.

Growing and still a Gateway to World Service.

Congratulations to Simpson alumna Dr. Christina (Partridge) Schnyders ('00) on her appointment as the ninth President of Warner Pacific University.

Since graduating from Simpson in 2000, Christina has served faithfully in Christian higher education as a professor, counselor, scholar, academic leader, and most recently as Provost at Malone University. We are grateful to see another Simpson graduate leading with excellence and influencing the next generation of students.

Please join us in congratulating Christina and praying for her family as they begin this exciting new chapter.

The first week is in the books!

Campus has been full of energy as students returned, classes began, Convocation kicked off the academic year, and the Simpson community gathered together again.

We’re grateful for a strong start and looking forward to what God will do in the year ahead.

Alumni investing in the next generation!

During New Student Orientation, several local alumni returned to campus to welcome incoming students and share from their experience.

Aaron Pitroff and Tim Mapes joined Professor Rosealine Lemette from Simpson’s Communication and Digital Media Department during Major Exploration, while Kevin Crye spoke with a group of incoming freshmen during one of our classroom gatherings.

We’re grateful for alumni who are willing to return, encourage students, and help them begin making connections between their education and the opportunities ahead.

Before the students arrive, we pray.

This morning, student leaders, RAs, faculty and staff gathered at the Cross to pray for the new students and families arriving on campus today.

Through all the activity, excitement and new beginnings, our prayer is simple: may Christ remain at the center of all we do.

Originally dedicated in 1999, Simpson's Urban-Trustee Tower has become one of the most recognizable landmarks on campus.

Do you remember hearing the clock chime between classes? Do you remember it covered in ivy? We'd love to hear your memories.

Homecoming registration is now open!

Our Homecoming postcards have been arriving in mailboxes this week, and now it’s time to start making plans to come home to Simpson!

Join us October 15–18 for Homecoming & Family Weekend. Reconnect with classmates and friends, celebrate milestone reunions, experience the Hugh and Hazel Darling Center for Business, Technology, and Engineering ribbon cutting, enjoy classes and athletics, and make new memories back on campus.

Many events throughout the weekend are free, and Full Weekend Packages and individual event options are now available.
