♻️ Did You Know?

Shasta College has been making major strides in hazardous and universal waste management—and the results speak for themselves!

🧪 Since 2024, three trained staff members, under administrative oversight, have been managing the inventory, clean-up, and collection of hazardous materials across three campuses.
🗓️ We've established a consistent collection schedule with certified providers.
📄 Our Hazardous Material Business Plan has been updated and is currently under review.
📊 For the past two years, we've had zero negative reports from the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS).
🌎 In 2024 alone, Shasta College recycled 4.37 tons of used oil!

We’re proud of the behind-the-scenes work keeping our campus cleaner and safer for everyone. 💙

🖤❤️💚 Juneteenth Closure Notice 💚❤️🖤

Campus will be closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day—a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors African American freedom, resilience, and culture.

While our offices will be closed, Campus Safety will remain available for emergencies. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need assistance.

In honor of this important day, we’d like to highlight the Umoja Program at Shasta College—a community that supports the academic success, cultural connection, and personal growth of African American and other students.

👉 Take a moment to learn more about Umoja and their impactful work by visiting:
https://www.shastacollege.edu/student-resources/student-services/umoja-program/

Let’s take this time to reflect, learn, and celebrate the progress and contributions of Black Americans throughout history.
