Dr. Daniel Enrique Pérez, Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, will be presenting the keynote talk. Come for the whole event or just a panel. It's going to be fantastic!

Just a quick reminder of tonight’s film screening, “Fold Crumple Crush: The Art of El Anatsui.” The AHVCS Forum is hosting the event in CFA 153, 6-7:30pm, with a short introduction by local early-childhood arts educator, Heike Rael, who teaches kids the creative and environmental benefits of working with repurposed and recycled materials. Heike is currently partnering with Urban Roots on a large-scale plastic bottle cap project for kids. She has also worked with Patagonia, Washoe County Schools, and Thursday Farmer’s Market on a range of sustainable, community-based art projects.

The film on El Anatsui’s work runs about 50 minutes. Hope to see you there!

Tonight! 6pm at the Wells Fargo Auditorium. Join the AHVCS Forum and the John & Geraldine Lilley Museum of Art for a film screening of “Edo Avant Garde,” a beautiful film by director Linda Hoaglund. If you missed the exhibition last spring of “Thirty-six Views of Japanese Art,” guest curated by Dr. Brett Van Hoesen, this film will rekindle some of that content. Free and open to the public. Parking available on first floor of Brian Whalen Parking Garage.

Film runs 80 mins with short intro by Dr. Brett Van Hoesen.
