Mission Accomplished: SpecTIR Delivers Multi-Sensor Aerial Survey for Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
We're proud to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive hyperspectral and orthophotography mapping project for the Government of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE -covering 2,450 km² across one of the region's most diverse landscapes.
In early 2024, what started as another world class hyperspectral mineral exploration survey, rapidly evolved into a comprehensive multi sensor mapping program. This project showcased the power of integrated remote sensing through our advanced multi-sensor capability: Specim FENIX 1K for VNIR/SWIR hyperspectral imaging (400-2500nm), OWL III for LWIR hyperspectral data (8000-12000nm), and IGI Penta-DigiCAM-280 for high-resolution oblique orthophotography, ALL ABOARD A SINGLE AIRCRAFT!
Operating in the UAE's extreme conditions presented unique challenges including international aircraft importations, stringent ATC requirements, temperatures exceeding 110°F, and sophisticated airspace coordination—all of which our expert team navigated successfully.
We're grateful for our exceptional partners at Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department, IGI, Tripodi Finland, and Zeusch Aviation, whose expertise in aerial camera systems, orthophotography processing, and specialized aircraft operations were instrumental to this success.
