Hamed is a PhD student and teaching assistant at University of North Carolina Charlotte, where he began his studies in 2018.
In 2019, he was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer. He had an initial surgery to remove four tumors in March.
After his surgery, however, his lab work showed an aggressive development of cancer in two local lymph nodes. His oncologist decided to start four intense cycles of chemotherapy.
After four months of treatment, Hamed finished chemotherapy at the end of August.
Following his treatment, he has resumed his study at UNCC. However, his income from teaching is limited and is sufficient only for basic needs like food and housing. His medical bills far exceed his income and ability to pay.
We are asking for help in supporting our friend with bills including:
- Surgery expenses (removal operation, port installment, port removal)
- Frequent radiology and blood work
- Weekly doctor visits
- Chemo infusions
- Infertility center cost, s***m freezing (not covered by insurance)
- Some medications not covered by insurance
- Intense checkups for at least one year with radiology, blood work, and follow-up appointments
Thank you for your support of our friend.
