Big things are happening at Richardson Lodge #1214.

On Tuesday a group of Brothers gave up their evening to strip the lodge room down to bare walls. Every Past Master photo, every charter, every banner, apron, and piece of furniture came off the walls and got moved to the center of the room.

If you have sat in that room, you would hardly recognize it right now. Bare white block, blue carpet, and a mountain of history stacked in the middle.

The contractor paints this weekend, with more updates coming around the building after that. It is going to look sharp when it all goes back up.

Thank you to every Brother who showed up, climbed a ladder, and carried something heavy. That is what makes a lodge a lodge.

We had the pleasure of hosting District Deputy Grand Master Ben Waits at Richardson Masonic Lodge #1214.

Our Stewards put out a great meal before the meeting, and the fellowship afterward was even better. It is always an honor to receive the DDGM and to hear what is happening across our district.

Thank you, Brother Waits, for the visit. You are welcome at our lodge any time.

Brethren, please make plans to join us at our next stated meeting on Tuesday, October 6 at 6:30 PM. We have an important matter to discuss and we need you there.

The Order of the Eastern Star is providing the meal for our October stated meeting. Minimum donation of $10 per person, and feel free to give more to support their cause.

Seven groups. One roof. One question: who takes care of this place?

Today Richardson Lodge, Washington Lodge, Chapter and Council, Commandery, DeMolay, Eastern Star, and the Rainbow Girls all sat down together to talk about our Lodge home. Not degrees, not calendars. The building itself. Keeping it clean, keeping it maintained, keeping it a place we're proud to bring a guest.

Here's the honest part: nobody is coming to do it for us. This building runs on the members who show up with a broom, a checkbook, or an hour on a Saturday.
The brothers before us handed it over in good shape. We intend to do the same.

So tell us in the comments: what's one thing you'd fix, clean, or upgrade around the Lodge if you had a free Saturday? We're reading every answer and building a list.

Congratulations to Ginger Mayo, recipient of the 2026 Community Builder Award from Richardson Lodge 1214.

Ginger has made a lasting difference in the community through her leadership, service, and willingness to help others. Along with her many community contributions, she has also served as a science teacher, helping educate, encourage, and inspire students. Her commitment to both education and service has made a positive impact on many lives.

We are also grateful to Richardson City Council Member Curtis Dorian for attending and representing the City of Richardson during this special occasion.

Today we celebrated Pi(e) Day at Richardson Lodge with a pie baking competition. Thank you to everyone who came out and participated. All of the pies were great, and we appreciate the time and effort everyone put into them.

Congratulations to Kimberly Derby-Lee for winning with her Butterfinger pie.
