On May 5th, Courtney Turner (EKU Alum, B.A. in English) and Kristen Tidwell spoke with Dr. Eric Meiners’ class, Team Building and Small Group Communication, about teamwork and careers in the nonprofit sector.

Ms. Turner is currently Communications Manager and Ms. Tidwell is currently Director and Grants and Scholarships at Bluegrass Community Foundation (BGCF) in Lexington, KY.

Founded in 1967, BGCF works to enhance the quality of life in central and Appalachian Kentucky by connecting individuals, businesses, and other nonprofits with causes they care to support.

Congratulations to CMS students Danielle Renfro and Addy Turner on their recent induction into the EKU chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi! This year’s induction ceremony was held on April 23rd in the Library Grand Reading Room. CMS professors John Strada (President), Jennifer Fairchild (Member-at-Large) and Krista Kimmel (Member-at-Large) serve on the EKU Phi Kappa Phi Executive Committee.

Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline honor society. EKU’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1971.
