It has been a very busy week for EKU Honors!

One week ago, we kicked things off by welcoming our students back for another great semester. Students had the chance to meet new people, catch up with friends, and enjoy giant Jenga, croquet, board games, and the Nintendo Switch 2. HUGE thanks to all the faculty that generously brought their games for our students to enjoy!

EHA also hosted their first meeting of the semester. Thank you to all of the officers and members working to grow and better EKU Honors through service and social events. We are so excited to see everything that our Honors students will accomplish this semester!

Keep it up Colonels, and be on the lookout for more Honors events coming soon!

We close EKU Honors Postcards 2026 coming back home to the USA. Trever had an Honors Odyssey Grant that helped him spend much of the summer as an intern in the United States Congress in Washington DC. Two of our honors students did the National Collegiate Honors Council’s “Partners in the Parks” programs—Kira at Acadia National Park in Maine and Madison at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. Finally, Allie spent much of the summer as an intern at Corolla Lighthouse on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

Honors Postcards Wednesday takes us to continental Europe! Brady Fields and Brooke Boyer accompanied Dr. Liddell on the KIIS Italy program (and here’s Brady in Florence and Brooke in Rome). Megan had an Honors Odyssey Grant that allowed her to spend her summer studying at a university in Milan, Italy. Meanwhile, Paisley (also an Honors Odyssey Grant winner) spent her summer doing medical shadowing in Madrid Spain (and the photo here is of her in Toledo, Spain). Makiah studied this summer in Bregenz, Austria, and this photo is from her side trip across the border to visit Neuschwanstein castle “next door” in Germany. Finally, Carolina studied in Prague, Czechia, and this is a photo of her at the city’s magnificent and historic Spanish Synagogue.

Our annual EKU Honors Postcards series starts today! We are celebrating the 2026 summer study-travel experiences of many of our students from EKU Honors. We start today in East Asia, with Annamarie wearing traditional “hanbok” clothing in Seoul, Korea. Lynsey also studied in Seoul—and here she is at the city’s beautiful downtown Jogyesa temple. Sakura did the KIIS Japan+Korea program, and here she is at Nagoya Castle. More EKU Honors summer adventures to come all this week!
