Congratulations and Thank You to Lori Dotson for many years of supporting Level 1 and 2 Fieldwork students! We appreciate you!
Lori Dotson has been recognized as the 2026 Occupational Therapist Fieldwork Educator of the Year by Eastern Kentucky University. Lori mentors future OTs while serving students at Clark County Preschool and Justice Elementary.
“Working with OT students is a nice refresher,” Ms. Dotson said. “I have ‘two heads’ working on a treatment, which often leads to more creative and effective interventions.”
Dotson graduated from EKU’s occupational therapy program in 2004, where fieldwork placements played a formative role in shaping her career goals. Now, mentoring is a meaningful part of her work with CCPS.
“There’s something special about teaching clinical skills and giving students the best hands-on experience possible,” she said. “It is truly a special feeling to get to be a mentor to students who will soon be OT practitioners.”
A HUGE CCPS Congratulations to Lori Dotson.
