Meet Chadha Ben Abderrahmane, Class of 2025
Chadha Ben Abderrahmane is a senior student who was born in Tunisia and grew up in the UAE.
Read her story below:
“I chose Earlham for the international community, the classroom experience, and the values Earlham upholds. I was pleasantly surprised when I first started learning about Earlham’s long history of standing up for what’s right. As a complete stranger to the U.S., I knew that this was where I would feel most aligned.
My favorite aspect of life at Earlham is all the green spaces on campus and back campus. Simply taking a walk here fixes my mood.
Over the years, my experience at Earlham has evolved. It feels very different between freshman and senior year, but I always felt welcome to try new things. I explored web developing, piano, health externships, Spring Lobby Weekend, and different religious events. I’m happy to have tried such a range of experiences despite not having much knowledge at first. All of these helped me understand what values matter most to me, what kind of art I like to practice, and what I want to do for my career. I also developed a variety of skill sets through these experiences.
I’m currently taking piano lessons and focusing on preparing for life after college. Last year, I was involved in the Hult Prize podcast as a videographer and participated in ASA and MSA. Previously, I was a web developer for The Word.
What I’ll miss most about Earlham is being surrounded by people who are vocal about what’s happening around the world and here on campus.
One thing I’ve learned at Earlham and something I’d share with any incoming freshman, is that if you find some activity is missing, start it yourself! It also looks great on a resume and will open so many doors.” 💛
