May is Teacher Appreciation Month and we’d like to shoutout CAP alum, Vitalis O., who was recently honored by as the Most Valuable Teacher. “Getting the award was a great honor and really an award for all the great educators I work with. So many other folks are also very deserving. It is also for all of the great educators I had both growing up and as an adult who inspired me to become an educator so I can be a great teacher for other kids!” Congratulations, Vitalis. Thank you for continuing to recycle your success!

A few weeks ago we hosted our second I Am a Wave-Maker Conference via zoom and welcomed and led the CAP community through a night centered on storytelling with design and purpose. The night was a huge success thanks to our wonderful facilitators including current Wave-Makers, alumni, and staff. A special shoutout to all those that tuned in, shared their stories, and asked questions throughout the night.

This year we closed day one of the conference with a Wave-Maker Panel featuring Camryn D., Mariana D., Kim L., and Jesus T. They shared their experiences and stories of navigating transitions, takeaways from college, and the importance of networking.

Want to check it out? Recordings of all the workshops are now live on our website: https://making-waves.org/our-work/wave-maker-conference/2022-conference/
