LEGO & Lunch: Drs. Krista Donohoe and Leigh Anne Hylton-Gravatt hosted a lunch where they built LEGO flowers with students Azyia, Valentina, Vanessa, and Madison.

Mahjong & a Meal: Drs. Alexis Crawford, Krista Donohoe, and Anne Masich gathered with students Bruna, Saba, and Tamara for lunch and a round of mahjong.

Congratulations to alumni Haley Mulder, Ph.D., and Samuel Obeng, Ph.D., on being named to VCU Alumni’s 10 Under 10 list!

Haley Mulder, Ph.D. (B.S.’16, M.S.’18, Ph.D.’22) – Chief Toxicologist for the Maryland State Police, leading breath alcohol, blood alcohol, and drug testing programs for impaired driving investigations.

Samuel Obeng, Ph.D. (Ph.D.’17) – Director of brain drug discovery research and pharmaceutical scientist at Texas Tech.

VCU Police Department and students with VCU School of Pharmacy are encouraging members of the public to bring their unused and unwanted medications to a Drug Take Back Day event this week.

The American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists at VCU and Pharmaceutical Sciences Organization at VCU will host National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Monroe Park (620 W. Main St.). The free community event will promote medication safety, overdose prevention and community wellness through interactive health education and outreach.

Community members can safely dispose of unused or expired medications while exploring a variety of health-focused activities. Event offerings will include a medication safety trivia booth, bone marrow donor swabbing in partnership with Earl Young’s team, and naloxone education and distribution through collaborations with PRN Connect and the Master Center.

As business manager of the VCU Center for Drug Discovery, Michelle played a key role in supporting our team and advocating for staff across the university through the VCU Staff Senate.

"You have a dedicated career of service, not just to the school and serving on various committees and our staff committee, but also serving the university as it relates to VCU Staff Senate in particular and constantly bringing back information to our community that not only would serve us well, but also advocating both internally and externally," shared Dean K.C.
