K of C 4th Degree Knights Serve as Color Guard for Bishop Saporito at St. John the Evangelist, Leonia.

This past weekend marked a proud moment for the Knights of Columbus as our 4th Degree Knights provided an honorable Color Guard for Bishop Saporito during his visit to St. John the Evangelist Church in Leonia for the anticipation mass of the First Sunday of Advent. The presence of the Color Corps added solemnity, dignity, and patriotic spirit to the celebration, reflecting the highest traditions of the Fourth Degree.

This event was especially meaningful for Joseph Aponte, Financial Secretary of Council 3550, as it was his first Color Guard detail. Sir Knight Aponte served with distinction alongside his fellow Sir Knights, representing both his council, assembly and the principles of the Patriotic Degree with pride.

We extend our gratitude to Bishop Saporito for his pastoral visit, to St. John the Evangelist for their warm hospitality, and to all the Sir Knights who participated in this memorable event. Moments like these remind us of our mission to serve Church, community, and country with faith and honor.

Last Saturday, members of Knights of Columbus Council 3550 participated in a silent retreat at the Loyola Jesuit Retreat Center in Morristown. It was a powerful day of quiet reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal.

A highlight of the retreat was praying the Stations of the Cross, walking together in silence as we reflected on Christ’s passion and deepened our connection to His sacrifice.

The peaceful environment of Loyola provided the perfect setting for personal contemplation and brotherhood rooted in faith. Thank you to the retreat leaders and to all the brothers who embraced this meaningful time of silence and prayer.

Vivat Jesus!
