Today the Franklin Pierce community was informed of a forced policy change following a Title IV lawsuit, the school is no longer allowed to publicly keep our policy of inclusion for transgender athletes. Thankfully, the NCAA still has protections in place for our trans athletes and as such they will still be allowed to participate on FPU teams as normal, but this is a moral blow to the school's LGBTQ+ community, an attempt from transphobic groups to weaken the spirits of the trans community on campus and in the athletic world, and the GSA would like to voice our continued support for trans athletes at FPU and accross the country.
Regardless of what transphobic policies and organizations will tell you, you are valid, you matter, and we stand with you to make the FPU community and the sporting world a safe place🏳️‍⚧️
