Real Talk on Mental Health in AOT Today!

Today, our Administrative Office Technology students had the opportunity to hear from Mario Fulton II, LCSW, LSSW, who delivered a powerful and insightful presentation on how school, work, and family responsibilities can impact mental health.

He highlighted the everyday mental load students carry and emphasized the importance of recognizing and managing these pressures. Students gained a better understanding of the differences between stress and burnout, along with practical strategies to cope with both effectively.

Most importantly, Mr. Fulton encouraged students to prioritize self-care—reminding them that taking care of their well-being is essential when balancing life’s many demands.

We are incredibly grateful for his time, knowledge, and commitment to equipping our students with tools they can use both now and in the future!

On May 8, 2026, our TCAT Northwest Covington campus Administrative Office Technology (AOT) students had the honor of volunteering at the Special Olympics held at Brighton High School.

This meaningful experience gave our students the opportunity to give back to the community, support outstanding athletes, and witness the true power of encouragement, determination, and inclusion. The smiles, excitement, and unforgettable moments throughout the day served as a powerful reminder of the impact that kindness and service can have on others.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Jessica Yeager for allowing our students to be part of such an inspiring event. Opportunities like this help our students grow both personally and professionally while learning the importance of compassion, teamwork, and community involvement.

We encourage everyone to find ways to volunteer and support events like the Special Olympics—because even the smallest act of service can make a lasting difference.

Students participating in this event include Shaniyah Burrell, Skylar Deweese, Eric Heiselman, Ellie Kirby, Iyesha Murphy, Kaylin Palmer, Megan White, and instructor Veronica Allen-Broadnax.

Our Administrative Office Technology (AOT) students recently had the opportunity to volunteer for the Food Drive in Covington, TN, as a way to give back to the community and support families in need.

Volunteering teaches the importance of compassion, teamwork, and serving others. Experiences like this remind our students that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life. Giving back not only strengthens our community, but it also helps shape future leaders who understand the value of helping others.

We would like to extend a special thank you to April Allen from Save the Children, and a former AOT graduate, for allowing our students to volunteer and be part of this meaningful experience. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside individuals who are making a positive impact in our community every day.
We encourage everyone to find ways to volunteer and support their local community. Together, we can make a difference!
