Dear Team ❤️,I am so proud of you 👏🏽 for reaching this incredible milestone. The Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) has evolved beautifully, all thanks to your dedication and commitment to diversity and inclusion. ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿I am so thankful 🥹 😭to have had the opportunity to work closely with each of you, and I am absolutely delighted to see you step forward as professionals in the field. You have all taught me such valuable, unique lessons:Glira, you have shown me that leadership comes in many forms. When we first met, I remember you being timid, but before I knew it, you became heavily involved on campus. You constantly challenged yourself both personally and professionally, and I am incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished.💚Hailey, you are one of the fiercest student leaders I have ever met. You were already so heavily involved when I first interviewed you! Seeing you continue to advocate and show others the ropes made me feel extremely proud. Thank you for everything you fought for and championed.💚Eugene, your charisma and wisdom truly shine. Watching you grow through the BSU and dare to put yourself out there by traveling to Spain 🇪🇸 has been amazing. I am proud that you continue to look for ways to grow, especially through our great conversations about financial literacy.💚Harnish, thank you for taking the lead on the Ripon College Men of Color Initiative and providing free haircuts for your peers. I always appreciated you coming into my office for those honest conversations; you taught me so much about how I can better support men of color. I am proud to have witnessed your growth as a scholar and a leader. To my whole team: thank you for making the CDI feel like home 🏡. Thank you for helping build our space with the beautiful decorations you contributed, for hosting amazing events, and for supporting the visions I had.I look forward to seeing all the wonderful things you will achieve in the future. 🥲Remember, I am always here if you ever need anything 💛. Continue to celebrate this amazing accomplishment!🎊👏🏽🙌🏾🍾

This past weekend marked a deeply meaningful milestone on our campus as we celebrated Ripon College’s 4th Annual Intercultural Convocation. This beautiful tradition began the exact year I arrived at Ripon, and it has been a profound privilege to watch it evolve, expand, and flourish in so many unique aspects. 🌹Thank you to Maythe and Meli for helping me start this beautiful tradition. With the support of President Folse and the Commencement Committee. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to gather as a united community and celebrate our extraordinary graduating students, alongside the families, friends, and support systems who championed them every step of the way. 🎓While saying goodbye is never easy, estoy orgullosa—I am immensely proud to know that our graduates are moving onward to bigger, greater endeavors.A special thank you to our student speakers—Glira, Hailey, and Sean. Your powerful words and leadership have left an indelible mark on our campus community. ❤️ To the Class of 2026: you are absolutely phenomenal. Please carry that reminder with you always, and know that my door remains open to you; please never hesitate to reach out if you ever need support. 😊 Seeing you all walk across the commencement stage proudly wearing your stoles brought so much joy to me. Thank you for choosing Ripon, for sharing your voices, and for being such passionate advocates for our campus community. ❤️Thank you for the beautiful ! Thank you & ! ❤️ 🎓

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the HEDIT conference today. 🫶🏽Especially President Folse. We appreciate Marian University hosting this years conference. It was so wonderful to hear from Mohammad Bey.🎓 Today was a reminder that it takes a community to go further rather than alone. I was able to give a presentation on Emotional Landscape of Harm: Pathways to Healing through Self-Work one my goal is to always empower our campus community. If you missed HEDIT this year and are interested in learning more stop by the CDI or email me I be happy to share the information. I’m extremely grateful to Dr. Mary Unger .i.unger for also leading a session focusing on Crafting a Better World through a Feminist perspective. 🗺️ We had the opportunity to learn from others today and learn more about the evolution of our own identities. Some of the materials we learned about today will mostly likely be apart of our Social Justice Summit next semester.

Ramadan at Ripon 🌙
This year, the CDI hosted a Ramadan tabling series covering What is Ramadan, Fasting & Health, Ramadan Around the World, and Laylat al-Qadr. With food, drinks, and meaningful conversations, students had the chance to learn more about Islam and the spirit of Ramadan.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to the CDI, SAO, ASA, and Muslim students who helped make this possible. 🤍

This past Friday the Black Student Union hosted Soul Food Night in Great Hall. ❤️💛💚We had the opportunity to hear from Carla Williams from UW Madison and founder of The View From Here Wellness Collective. She made us think profoundly on about wellness and how that looks like for us. She guided us through a worksheet that had us check in with ourselves and each other. We have some of the sheets available if anyone is interested in the CDI. Thank you to everyone that attended! It was lovely to celebrate 100 years of Black History Month with dialogue and reflection. You are all seeing and becoming part of important historical moments. 🎓 Thank you for making this event possible BSU! ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏿✊🏼✊🏻✊
