Adios Spring Semester!

As we gear up for summer project season, it’s important to take a moment to thank our graduating seniors Blake, Jaidon, Zoё, Eli, and Nathaniel for their time, effort, and energy that has allowed us to see them grow over the years in our program.

Spring Semester is off to a great start. SciTech is open for classes. Here in DoTS we have 4 new student employees. We look forward to working with Jonathan, Hani, Munint, and Micheal.

Had another great Chili potluck on Tuesday! Got together with the library staff for a couple hours of non-work talk and food. For the second year in a row Dan Miller took home first place in the Chili cookoff. Peter Reese took 1st in the food-related Kahoot with Robert Rust and Maureen as 2nd and 3rd place!

DoTS would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and we hope everyone that is driving over the holiday stays safe! Also good luck to all the teams that have games this weekend, including the football team in the NCAA playoffs. Go Falcons!

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Robert🌟

This week features Robert, our Integration Engineer. He started working in UWRF IT as a student in fall of 1996 and continued here professionally after graduation in 1998. For the past 15 years he supported web applications and services with a focus on integrations and identities. In Robert's free time, he can often be found reading an urban fantasy novel, exploring computer technology, camping, or helping out with Boy Scouts.

This week features Oliver, our service center analyst. He has been working at DoTS since January 2025. He is on the Men's Soccer team here at UWRF and loves to play, coach, and watch soccer, among other sports ⚽.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Pete🌟

This week features Pete, our new Chief Information Officer. He has been working at DoTS since 2012 and originally started as a student employee in 1996👨‍🎓. He likes to spend time with his family, mountain bike, camp, kayak and travel.

This is what Pete thinks about his time at DoTS so far: I've loved my time with UWRF and DoTS over the years. We have great people working here! It's hard to find a more meaningful career than helping people improve their lives through education. Always learning!

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Nate🌟

This week features Nate, a Systems Engineer on the Servers & Storage team. He started working at DoTS as a student employee in September of 2010, joining DoTS full-time in May of 2016. In his spare time, you'll probably find Nate backpacking in the woods on the north shore of Lake Superior 🏞️, hiking on the Ice Age Trail 🥾, or checking Wisconsin and Minnesota state park visits off his list 📋.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Ben🌟
This week features Ben Dusek, our Technical Integration Engineer supporting Windows and Mac computers, Printers, as well as Classrooms. He has been working at DoTS since 2023 full time but started as a student in 2019. He enjoys Woodworking 🪵, 3D printing 🖨️, Photography 📸, RC Aircraft 🛩️, and much more.
