Mo’ne Davis, 17, was the first African-American girl to play in Little League World Series, pitch a shutout and win. Mo'ne's accomplishments earned her a feature on the cover of Sports Illustrated, the first Little League player to ever do so.

Jackie Robinson rose to popularity in 1947 as the first Black player to cross the MLB color line, ending racial segregation in the sport. Robinson's jersey was the first to be retired of any North American sport league. He was inducted in the hall of fame in 1962.

Dominique Dawes is a former gymnast and member of the 1996 Olympic gold-medal-winning team the Magnificent Seven. She was a 10 year member of the U.S. National team and one of three U.S. gymnast to compete with three different medal-winning teams.

Charlie Sifford is best known for breaking the color barrier in men's professional golf. He was the first African American to play on the PGA Tour. In 2004 he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame and in 2014 he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
