The 2025 River Forest Collegiate Invitational men's tennis event -- Friday & Saturday, Sept. 12 & 13 at the River Forest Tennis Club and the Oak Park Tennis Center. This men's collegiate tennis invitational is again hosted by the River Forest Tennis Club, 615 Lathrop, River Forest, IL, and Northern Illinois University, and will be held Friday/Saturday, Sept. 16 & 17, 2022. llinois State, Eastern Illinois and Washington University (MO). RFTC is the primary site with additional matches also played all day on both days at the Oak Park Tennis Center, another clay court facility located just blocks away in River Forest. The event is free and open to the public, and you're invited to stop by either or both locations throughout the event.

And finally, here are the completed draw sheets and results that take us through the two rounds of doubles and three rounds of singles. We had some drops, swaps and switches in the last round, particularly in the #5, 6 & 7 flights, so some of the names entered won't match the progression from the previous round. Our overall goal of the event is to allow the teams to get in as much match play for their players as possible, so we are flexible when a player needs to drop out for any reason and then try to find matches for the remaining players wherever possible.

Our 2025 River Forest Collegiate Invitational for men's tennis wrapped up on Saturday early evening, Sept. 13. We were delighted to have eight terrific teams come in to play at our two clubs -- The River Forest Tennis Club and the Oak Park Tennis Center. We had an awesome day on Friday with one round of doubles and then two rounds of singles that went right up to darkness for a couple of the late matches.

That all changed early Saturday morning just before our teams were to take to the courts for 8am warm-ups when a storm blew through the area for about 90 minutes. Our respective court crews went into action as soon as the rain stopped and the sky started to clear up. By noon we were getting matches out as courts became playable. We played one round of doubles instead the scheduled two rounds, then started right in with the last round of singles.

All in all we were about two hours behind our normal pace, but Saturday afternoon turned into a beautiful day, and of course the tennis was fantastic. Thanks to our coaches and players. But also our deepest thanks to all of the volunteers who made this event happen -- our host families who housed players and coaches; our dedicated food service team led by Jennifer Griffin who served up two big buffet lunches and a grill dinner; all of our other court coordinators who tracked scores, swept courts, and pitched in as needed; and finally to our Chicago area ITA umpires, led by Adriane Welker, who kept matches running smoothly.

Here are the draws & results of all the singles matches played today. (Doubles scores were posted earlier.) You should be able to view & enlarge these. Weather permitting, we'll wrap up with the last two rounds of doubles in the morning and then play the last round of doubles starting right after lunch. Fingers crossed for no appreciable amount of rain.
