Jeffrey and I started this business late October 2019. We both are born and raised in the district. Jeff graduated from Johnson & Wales University of Charlotte and I graduated from Central Texas College.
One day we were having a conversation, when we first started dating about becoming entrepreneurs and what we would like to do. Jeff told me a story about how he use to make chicken pot pies and sold the pies to his family and neighborhood friends and how successful it was, but he didn’t keep up with it, because he wasn’t focused at the time. One night we had leftovers curry chicken, so I mentioned to make a pie, we tried it and it was good. We made curry chicken pies and chicken pot pies for our family and told them we’re going to start a pie business. The feedback about the pies was more than enough motivation.
After that, I worked on the logo for about two weeks hand drawing it, we decided on the name pretty quickly. We just needed more items on the menu. That’s when we started off with 3 savory pies (pot pie, curry pie, jerk pie) and 2 sweet pies (apple and peach).
Even though we aren’t where we want to be business wise, we are still working on our goals. It’s been a fun but hard journey becoming entrepreneurs. We got married January 2023 then shortly found out we were pregnant and continued working. Once our babygirl arrived we had to consider other options, so that we more financially stabled. Business slowed up a lot but we never gave up!
