The Accounting Society of UCR was first established at the University of California, Riverside, in 1985. As one of the longest lasting organizations on campus, the Accounting Society takes pride in assisting its members to prepare for the real world in the accounting profession. The Accounting Society of UCR serves as the student’s link to the Career Center, the Gary Anderson Graduate School of Ma

nagement, the Alumni Association, and numerous accounting firms - ranging from the Big 4 accounting firms, to midsize and smaller firms, and CPA review courses. The Accounting Society has been extremely successful in giving its members the resources they need to make an educated decision about their career path within accounting. We have also been very successful in giving our members great exposure to the firms of their choice, offering our members unique networking opportunities that will give them a tremendous advantage over other accounting students when interviewing for an accounting position.

We hope you had a wonderful winter break and a smooth transition into the winter quarter!

There will be a meeting tomorrow with Jim Dusserre, the Assistant Director of the Argyros School of Business and Economics of Chapman University. He will present the M.S. in Accounting program at Chapman University and the semester hours needed to take the CPA Exam for those interested in attaining a CPA license.

Their will be complimentary food for the evening.

Hi everyone! We're having a meeting this Tuesday night at 7:00 PM, Glen Moor C001. The meeting will be about Big 4 tips and skills for those who want to go into the four largest public accounting firms. There will be professionals from each firm; Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PWC.

Come to learn about their experiences, how they got into their careers, and to also enjoy some free pizza!

Thank you to the professionals from Squar Milner and RSM for being the key speakers at our Accounting Society, and Beta Alpha Psi, Week 2 meeting. We hope everyone enjoyed this informational networking session, and we look forward to meeting each of you at our next meeting.

To upcoming and prospective accountants, don't forget about the upcoming Finance, Accounting, and Business Job Fair! Firms like Squar Milner and RSM will be there, waiting to talk to you! This job fair is happening this Thursday, October 10th 2019, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm PDT, at 900 University Avenue, Riverside, California 92507.

For incoming members, there is a membership fee of $45 that will need to be paid for entry to our future meetings. You can pay in cash or venmo our boardmember: Carolyn-Chang-5.

For Week 2, we will be co-hosting two meetings with Beta-Alpha-Psi. We've invited professionals from two public accounting firms: Squar Milner and RSM.

Please come in with business professional attire and copies of your resumés. As well, because this is our first meeting of the year, there is a membership fee of $45 that will need to be paid in order to gain entry for all future meetings. You can pay in cash or Venmo at Carolyn-Chang-5.
