Wrapping up our grad spotlight series!! 🎓🎉

Meet Madi Goulet, a student whose time at CBU has been defined by leadership, service and community. She has served as Chaplain for the Student Nurses’ Association (SONA), a Resident Assistant at University Place and the College of Nursing representative on the Student Senate.

At CBU, she’s developed the hands-on experience, confidence and critical thinking essential for patient care.

Her favorite memory? Running down the halls of Tower Hall after finding out she was accepted into the nursing program - and having the entire floor celebrate alongside her. Moments like these are what make the CBU community so special. Congrats, Madi!

Wrapping up our senior spotlight series!! 🎓🎉

At CBU, Mariela Castro found her rhythm through music, community and shared experiences. From performing in ensembles throughout the year to events like A CBU Christmas, her time has been filled the opportunities to grow as a musician and connect with others.

One of her favorite memories? Traveling to Italy with the School of Performing Arts and performing in beautiful venues alongside friends—an experience she calls a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Whether through performances, time spent with friends or life on campus, these moments shaped her experience and growth as a musician. Congrats!

Next up is Eli Kang representing the School of Christian Ministries! His time at CBU has been marked by leadership, community and a commitment to investing in others.

One of his favorite memories? Welcoming freshmen as a First Year Experience leader and helping launch their college experience during Welcome Weekend.

From campus traditions like the Festival of Color to meaningful moments in the classroom, Eli has experienced the depth of community that defines CBU. And when it comes to choosing a favorite professor, he says it’s “like a parent choosing their favorite child,” but highlights Dr. Chute for his wisdom and pastoral heart both in the classroom and in the local church. Way to go, Eli! 💛💙🎓

Meet Kate Goodwin, a student from the Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education whose time at CBU has been shaped by community, growth and a heart for serving others. From working as a campus activities intern and Recreation Center Customer Service Attendant to participating in discipleship group, intramurals and an International Service Project, Kate has been deeply involved across campus.

At CBU, she found a sense of “home” in the classroom—an experience shaped by professors like Dr. Julie Kim, who created space for growth, vulnerability and purpose.

Kate hopes to carry that same environment into her future classroom, loving her students as Christ loves them. Congrats Kate! 💙💛🎓

Some of the most meaningful moments at CBU are the ones shared with others.

For Pason Vander Broek, from the College of Engineering, that included late nights during finals week surrounded by friends, studying, laughing and pushing through together. What could have felt overwhelming became something memorable because they were in it side by side.

Traditions like the Christmas tree lighting also stand out, gathering with candles, singing carols and reflecting on God’s grace.

He also points to professors like Dr. Chun, whose intentional teaching and emphasis on using to serve others and glorify God left a lasting impact.

Congratulations Pason!
