Hollins University's Playwright’s Lab offers an MFA in playwriting (with concentrations in dramaturgy, directing, performance, plays for youth, plays with music and/or applied theatre). We also offer an MA in theatre and New Play Development as well as certificate programs in New Play Directing, New Play Dramaturgy, and New Play Performance. Excited to meet the prospective students in our back to back to back Zoom interviews this week via SETC's LiNK auditions. We are seeking excellent playwright, actors, directors and dramaturgs for summer 2023! We have an average of 5 open slots in each of our five programs (including the new Master of Arts in Theatre and New Play Development). If you weren't able to participate in LiNK, contact us to set up an online interview with the program director between now and our February 5th deadline for applications.

Sophia Menconi is a director, stage manager, and theatre educator based in Washington, DC. She graduated from Denison University in 2020 with a BA in Theatre Arts and English - Creative Writing. She first got involved in theatre as a member of the stage crew at her high school, and is now enjoying a full circle moment serving as the Technical Director for the GOnzaga College HIgh School stage crew in Washington, DC. She is a first year MA student at Hollins University, studying Theatre and New Play Development.
