We pulled together a collection for Arab American Heritage Month that invites a closer look at stories, voices, and experiences across ages.

From picture books to middle-grade and beyond, this display highlights voices, cultures, and experiences that deserve a place in our everyday reading, not just this month.

One that keeps catching people’s attention is The Proudest Blue by Ibtihaj Muhammad. It follows two sisters on the first day, one of them wears her hijab to school, and what stands out is how it frames pride with the reality of navigating questions and stares. It’s a simple story, but it opens the door to conversations about identity, confidence, and support in a really accessible way.

You’re in the final stretch, and we know it’s a lot right now.

Stress Less Fest is happening in the ERL April 13–17. Stop in for puzzles, games, crafts, or just a few minutes to reset. You can add to our “recipe for success,” take a quick brain break, or just sit for a bit between classes.

No sign-up, no pressure. Come when you need it.

We’re cheering you on as you wrap up the semester.

Women’s History Month is a good excuse to slow down a bit and spend time with stories that don’t always get center stage. Our display is full of women who shaped science, pushed for change, created art, and did the kind of work that sticks with you long after you put the book down. Some names you’ll know, plenty you won’t, and that’s kind of the point.

Did you know that Women’s History Month actually started as a week in 1980 before expanding to a full month in 1987, which says a lot about how much there is to recognize.
