🎉 Congratulations to our senior Sonography program students on an outstanding achievement at the 2026 MSDU Spring Seminar student poster competition!

Out of 45 poster presentations, Megan Tolzmann, Lisa Kor, and Samantha Marquette earned 🥈 2nd Place for their poster:
“High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU): Clinical Applications in Uterine, Breast, and Liver Pathologies”

Their hard work, research excellence, and dedication to advancing sonography education and clinical knowledge were recognized among an impressive field of competitors. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishment and the professionalism they continue to demonstrate in representing the program.

It’s National Nurses Week, and at Mayo Clinic, we recognize the thousands of nurses who show up each day for patients and families and keep empathy at the center of care. As part of this week’s observance, Mayo Clinic buildings will be illuminated in blue tonight as a sign of gratitude and recognition. National Nurses Week is observed each year from May 6–12, in honor of Florence Nightingale’s birthday.

📣 A huge shoutout to Dr. Avinash Nehra for an inspiring session with our radiography class! As a dedicated radiologist at Mayo Clinic, he shared invaluable case examples in X-ray, CT, and MRI, offering insight into the pathologies we might encounter and what radiologists focus on in image interpretation. We're so grateful for his time and expertise! 🙌

Fun Fact: Dr. Nehra is the new medical director for the radiography program, bringing even more excellence to our learning journey! ✨

The Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Florida Radiography Program celebrated the completion of its new energized lab with an Open House attended by over 100 guests! 🎉

Visitors toured the space and connected with our students while exploring this purpose-built, fully functional imaging environment designed to support high-quality instruction.

Key features include an expanded control area for up to 10 students, a full-body imaging phantom for realistic positioning, and a 54-inch display for collaborative image review.

With availability outside of patient care and simulation scheduling, the lab gives faculty greater flexibility for hands-on learning, remediation, and skill development—strengthening clinical readiness and student success.

We’re excited to see the impact this new space will have on radiography education! 💙
