The Department of Chemical Engineering is pleased to announce
Conor McNamara as the 2023 Young Alumni Award winner.
This award is given annually to recognize graduates within the last 15 years for their service to society, their professional and technical accomplishments, and their demonstrated leadership.
Conor works as the Director of Beyond Beer Operations for Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis, MO. He leads a cross-functional supply chain team responsible for the production planning and ex*****on of AB's Beyond Beer Portfolio, with a focus on Flavored Malt and Wine-Based products. Conor joined AB immediately after graduating from Rochester and has worked his way through a variety of roles in brewery operations, corporate planning, and supply chain innovations.
Conor received his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester in 2013 and, in 2014, participated in Rochester's e5 Program (formerly known as KEY) where he worked
on developing a product line of zero-waste soap.
It was through this course of study that Conor developed an interest in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) space and became determined to apply his degree to the production of goods that impact the consumers every day life.
Both as a student and now as an alumnus, Conor is a passionate member of the University of Rochester community. He volunteers his time as an alumni interviewer for the admissions department, serves on the St. Louis Network Leadership Council, co-chaired his 5th and 10th-year reunion committees, is an active member of the George Eastman Circle, and previously served as a member of the Hajim Young Leadership Council.
Conor will be accepting his award at the Eisenberg Symposium during Mel Weekend (Friday, 10/6, Wegmans Hall Atrium, 4:30pm). All are welcome to attend!
