Congratulations to Professor Steve Choi for receiving the 2025 Housing Research Manuscript Award!

His award-winning research, "The Winner's Curse in Housing Markets," explores why buyers often overpay during intense bidding wars. Huge congratulations to our Saunders students named 2025-2026 Outstanding Undergraduate Scholars! From our Rochester campus to our global locations, these Tigers are in the top 1% of the university.

To earn this bronze medallion these scholars completed 83+ credit hours with an exceptional 3.85+ GPA, all while giving back through volunteer work and research.

For over four decades, the Herbert W. Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Awards have been a hallmark of excellence in the Greater Rochester business community. Established in 1984, this award continues its mission to honor the leaders who drive our regional economy through visionary entrepreneurship. In 2019, the Herbert W. Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Student Awards was established to recognize outstanding RIT undergraduate or graduate student(s) who have demonstrated the potential to become successful entrepreneurs.

Four MS in hospitality business management students spent their spring break in Piñera, Spain, conducting a comprehensive feasibility study for a proposed bed-and-breakfast development.

As part of their capstone project, Brian Haak ’26, Emily Rahrle ’26, Sammantha Tasciotti ’26, and Susan McGroarty ’26 engaged in extensive field research. The group met with local mayors, interviewed tourists, and toured regional hotels to assess the area's tourism potential. Their visit was even featured by a local hotel, Hotel Boutique Villa del Marqués, highlighting the professional impact of their research.

Accompanied by Professor Jerrie Hsieh, the team applied their hospitality knowledge to a real-world project in an international setting.
