Katie Brasley Trepanier โ€™26W (EdD) reflects on the powerful symbolism behind URochesterโ€™s official emblem โ€” the dandelion โ€” as a model for Kโ€“12 leadership: resilient, mission-driven, adaptable, and committed to spreading growth beyond itself.

Her message to K-12 school leaders: Be brave enough to be a dandelion. ๐ŸŒผ

As school leaders, protect your marigolds AND BE A DANDELION.

For four focused days, faculty, staff, and students are coming together to draft, revise, and reimagine their workโ€”from articles and chapters to proposals and project plans. Thank you, MJ Curry and Michael Occhino, for helping make this vibrant, writing-centered community possible.

โ€œWe bent, we crawled, we pushed through the scorching heat, and here we stand. Proud and unwavering, ready to conquer life. But friends, in front of us today is a higher calling. Our success demands that we give back. I ask you, Class of 2026, to imagine 20 years from now, someone standing on a stage like this, and saying to you, โ€˜Thank you for saving my life.โ€™ Go out there and be somebodyโ€™s miracle!โ€ โ€” Onesmo Mushi โ€™26W (PhD)
