This summer, RIT School of Performing Arts marks a thrilling milestone as we welcome to the Student Hall for Exploration and Development (SHED) for the very first time.

The Summer Movement Institute will take place July 5-26, 2026 in the SHED.

Dancers of all levels are invited to this three-week intensive—the only place to learn the Fagan Technique! Experience the legendary method created by Garth Fagan, the Tony Award-winning original choreographer of Broadway's The Lion King.

This past week, Performing Arts Scholars Alison Maselek, Emilio McDonald, and Josh Milone traveled to NYC with faculty members Alexa Scott-Flaherty and Dr. Kelley Holley to participate and perform in The Farm Theatre’s College Collaboration Showcase Reading of We’re Okay, We’re Okay, We’re all Gonna be Okay by Gina Femia.

Stage Partners recently announced that they will be the publisher of the Farm Theater’s College Collaboration Project plays, making them available for productions worldwide. The inaugural publication will be Gina Femia’s We’re Okay, We’re Okay, We’re All Gonna Be Okay where RIT students will be named in the script as part of the original production!

The Farm Theater commissioned Gina Femia to write a play that RIT and Austin Peay State University independently produced throughout this past academic year. The faculty, students, and playwright collaborated in the development of the text. Emilio and Josh were actors in RIT’s production this past February, and Alison served as a dramaturg on the full developmental process of the play. This year’s showcase reading featured, for the first time, an entire cast of students from the productions.

The faculty and students also got to see Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire’s The Balusters, which is a five-time Tony nominee, earning nods for Best Play, Best Featured Actress, Best Featured Actor, Best Direction, and Best Costume Design.

The evening will include selections by J.S Bach, Roshanne Etezady, Gustav Holst, Modest Mussorgsky, Christopher Rouse, John Williams, Gessé Souza, and RIT's Yi-Ning Lo and Robert Truan.
