Classrooms, labs, clinical rotations, exams.

What started as a goal became a journey, and now it's a profession.

Recently, we celebrated our Florida Radiography graduates as they take the next step from student to healthcare professional. The work they will do may happen behind the scenes, but its impact on patient care will be felt every day. Along with the celebration of the students, this was a milestone in the program for the largest cohort since the program began- 15 students!

Congratulations on reaching this milestone and welcome to the profession! 🎉

Welcome to our newest cohort of Radiation Therapy students!

This week a new class begins their journey toward becoming radiation therapists, joining a profession that combines advanced technology, precision, and compassionate patient care. Over the next year, these students will gain hands-on clinical experience, learn from expert faculty, and work alongside multidisciplinary teams dedicated to treating patients with cancer and other serious diseases. The program welcomes it's biggest cohort ever with 15 students!

We're excited to see the impact this talented group will make as they develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support patients during some of their most challenging moments.

Please join us in welcoming our new Radiation Therapy students to the Mayo Clinic community! 💛

A summer pathways experience helped her discover a career she never knew existed.

When Sam Rudnick participated in Mayo Clinic's Career Immersion Program as a high school student, she gained exposure to a wide range of healthcare professions and discovered how many people work together to support patient care.

One experience stood out: shadowing surgical assistants in the operating room. Seeing the role firsthand helped her connect her interests with a potential career path and gave her a clearer vision for her future.

After graduating from high school, Sam earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Minnesota Rochester while gaining clinical experience as a Patient Care Assistant at Mayo Clinic. Today, she is pursuing that same passion as a student in Mayo Clinic's Surgical Assistant Program.

Her journey reflects the power of early career exploration and how pathways programs can help learners discover opportunities that shape their educational and professional goals.
