Did you know? Before the orange era… blue and grey ruled RIT

Ever find a piece of history that captures a moment of total transformation? This early 1960s RIT Tiger Pennant is exactly that. It’s a physical relic from a fascinating "in-between" era in the university's branding history. While RIT students voted to adopt the Tigers nickname in 1957, the university didn't officially ditch its original colors, Blue and Grey, until 1964. This pennant represents the specific seven-year window when the new mascot and the old colors coexisted.

School is over for the summer but not for the DIII lacrosse team as they will play for the national championship later this month! It will be RIT's sixth appearance in the NCAA National Championship game, having won back-to-back national titles in 2021 and 2022. Cheers for the Tigers!

NTID was honored to host representatives from Governor Hochul's office yesterday for National American Sign Language Day. They shared some exciting information about the governor’s inclusion of American Sign Language into the New York State Language Access Law. This will ensure that New Yorkers who use sign language will be able to more quickly and easily access government information and services.
