Opening night! Come join us this weekend as we present this powerful drama at Tillman Auditorium on our Winthrop campus. Friday/Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 3pm.

Join Winthrop Opera Theatre as we present Poulenc's "Dialogues of the Carmelites" on February 26 - 27 at 7:30pm and February 28 at 3pm.

Set during the last days of the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution, Francis Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites tells an inspired story of the Martyrs of Compiègne, the Carmelite nuns, who were guillotined in Paris for refusing to renounce their vocation. After premiering at La Scala in 1957, the score has been praised for its lush harmonic language which combines music, song, and prayer in a dramatic portrayal of self-sacrifice. Performed with piano and sung in English.
