If you weren’t able to attend last week’s public reception, there’s still time to check out 𝒮𝒾𝑔𝓃𝓈 𝑜𝒻 𝐿𝒾𝒻𝑒 (curated by Alexis Howard '16 and Dylan Bannister '16), which remains at the Center for the Arts in downtown Rock Hill through June 13th.

In the words of Alexis and Dylan, 𝒮𝒾𝑔𝓃𝓈 𝑜𝒻 𝐿𝒾𝒻𝑒 lifts the veil obscuring appreciation of the commonplace and highlights the serendipitous beauty of everyday life. This exhibit challenges viewers to consider ordinary things – such as discarded furniture and parking lots – as spectacles, if one’s imagination is open to such an epiphany.

Tonight, Dr. Jeremy Mims and Professor Patton led the Winthrop Chorale and Collegiate Choir in a powerful American choral program. The centerpiece, Credo by Margaret Bonds, sets the words of W.E.B. Du Bois—among the most important civil rights writings prior to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. What an honor to hear this work this night!

Tuesday morning, Dr. Isenhour will represent ArtsWinthrop in the Eagle Float Frenzy, racing in the West Center Pool to compete for a portion of a $2,500 challenge gift that has been donated by the members of the Winthrop University Alumni Association Executive Board.
