Augustana College Sierra Club The Augustana Sierra Student Coalition strives to move Augustana's campus away from poor energy practices and towards renewable and sustainable practices.

The Sierra Club is a national organization that focuses on conservation and sustainability. The Sierra Club's mission statement is:

"To explore, enjoy and protect the planet. To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carr

y out those objectives." The Augustana College Sierra Student Coalition will follow this mission statement and aim to be a leading force at Augustana towards a campus that is environmentally conscious with sustainable energy practices. Together the students and faculty at Augustana can begin to take steps towards higher sustainability. By following the example of other small liberal arts colleges, strides can be made, individually and locally, that can make a big impact on our community.
