Every campus has its stories, and one of Rockford University’s most enduring legends recently brought ESPN broadcaster Andy Hall to campus.

Rock River Current shares how Hall’s search to learn more about his late father led him back to Rockford and uncovered a story that has been passed down through generations of Regents.

The story will also air tonight on ESPN, bringing a piece of Rockford University history to a national audience.

From classrooms to castles, theatres to historic streets, our Rockford University students experienced the art and science of storytelling firsthand during their travels through Ireland and England.

Representing psychology, English, and theatre, these students explored the places where literature, performance, culture, and human connection come alive. Along the way, they learned not only from the history and stories around them, but from one another—discovering how storytelling shapes the way we understand the world and ourselves.
