It is with heavy hearts that we share that Dr. Ray Lubeck, distinguished and beloved Professor and Alumni of Multnomah University, has gone to be with the Lord on December 20, 2025.
The following is a short tribute from Dr. Parnell M. Lovelace, Jr., Interim President of Jessup University:
Remembering a Scholar of the Faith
A year and a half ago, I entered a chapel service in Portland, Oregon. I observed a gentle yet stately gentleman seated in the room, surrounded by several students. Later, faculty and staff shared with me that this man was deeply revered across the campus. He had spent decades affiliated with the schoolāfirst as a student and later as a professor.
In time, I would sit alongside this prolific individual in faculty and staff meetings. It became clear to me that I was in the presence of a sage, a prophetic voice, and a distinguished scholar of Torah studies. More importantly, I came to know him as a man who loved Jesus with all of his heart. His academic acumen never overshadowed his deep conviction for Christ, his family, the Church, or his students.
I honor Dr. Ray Lubeck, Professor of Bible and Theology. His life and ministry affirm the words of 2 Timothy 4:7ā8 (NIV): He has fought the good fight, he has finished the race, he has kept the faith. Now there is in store for him the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to him on that dayāand not only to him, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
