Community impact, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart. 💙
Our Fort Lauderdale students spent the day volunteering with Feeding South Florida — helping provide more than 4,000 meals to families in the community.
This was one of our biggest volunteer groups yet, and the best part? They’ll be back all summer long. 🙌
At CLE, building independence also means building connection, purpose, and a commitment to showing up for others. Proud of these students for putting that into action.

🎾 Friday fun at CLE Costa Mesa! 💗
When your pickleball crew has this much spirit, custom merch is obviously required. 😎
Shoutout to Brandon, one of our CLE students, who designed these awesome shirts for the Costa Mesa pickleball group! 🙌 Entrepreneurial spirit + community + a little friendly competition? Yes please.
At CLE, growth happens in the big moments and the fun ones — building friendships, trying new things, creating something of your own, and showing up for your community.
Think pink & d**k. 💗🏓

🌿 Fresh air, new experiences, and real-world learning. 🌿
Our San Diego students explored the San Elijo Nature Center alongside park rangers who shared fun facts about local wildlife, rescued animals, and protected habitats.
From community engagement and social connection to movement and environmental learning, outings like these help students build confidence and independence in meaningful, natural ways. 💚
Big thanks to the San Elijo Nature Center team for an awesome day!

Volunteering = real-world learning in action.

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible ways our students show up in their communities—and what they gain in return.

Through volunteer experiences, CLE students are:

✨ Practicing communication with new people
✨ Learning how to navigate expectations in workplace-like settings
✨ Building stamina, accountability, and follow-through
✨ Gaining confidence in unfamiliar environments

These aren’t just “nice-to-have” skills—they’re essential for long-term success in employment and independent living.

Every shift, every interaction, every new experience adds up.

And we see that growth happen every day.

Last chance to join us tonight.

If you’ve been considering SDP (Self-Determination Program) funding—but feel unsure where to begin—this is your opportunity to get real clarity.

We’ll break down:

✔ What SDP actually involves

✔ How families successfully fund CLE

✔ How guides you through every step

✔ What to do next if you’re ready to move forward

No jargon. No pressure. Just clear, actionable guidance.

And plenty of time for your questions.

It’s National Volunteer Week 💙

At CLE, volunteering isn’t just about giving back—it’s about moving forward.

Through hands-on experiences in real community settings, our students explore career paths, build confidence, and develop the skills that translate into employment and independence.

From animal shelters to food banks to community events, every volunteer opportunity is a stepping stone:

✔️ Trying out new environments

✔️ Building workplace readiness

✔️ Discovering interests (and sometimes passions!)

Because career development doesn’t start with a job—it starts with exposure.

Still wondering if SDP is the right path for your student?

Many families delay starting because the process feels unclear—or they’ve heard it’s difficult to navigate.

But here’s what we see every day:

With the right support, SDP becomes not just manageable—but incredibly powerful.

In our upcoming webinar with NeuroNav , we’ll walk you through:

✔ What to expect at each step of the SDP process

✔ Where families typically get stuck (and how to avoid it)

✔ How to build a plan that actually gets approved

✔ How CLE fits into a fully supported transition plan

If SDP has been “on your radar” but you haven’t taken the next step—this is for you.

📣 Webinar Announcement!

SDP funding doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

We hear it all the time—families are curious about California’s Self-Determination Program (SDP)… but hesitant to start. Between confusing steps and mixed experiences, it can feel like too much.

The truth? With the right guidance, families are successfully using SDP to fund CLE—and build a more personalized path forward.

That’s why we’re partnering with NeuroNav for this upcoming webinar.

Join us to learn:

✔ What SDP actually looks like (in plain English)
✔ The step-by-step path to enrollment
✔ How families are using SDP to fund CLE
✔ How NeuroNav helps you avoid common pitfalls

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

We’re excited to share that CLE will be part of something big this month.

Our own Center Director, Kelly Miller, will be speaking at the Empower Summit in Miami, hosted by Autism Speaks Florida on Saturday, April 25th.

This summit is designed for parents and caregivers navigating the transition to adulthood—and it’s packed with real, practical guidance (not just theory).

💡 Topics include:
• Post-secondary education options
• Employment opportunities
• Independent living skills
• Relationships, safety, and advocacy

These are the exact areas families are asking us about every day—and this is a chance to hear from experts, ask questions, and walk away with clarity.

If you’re in the Miami area (or have families there), this is absolutely worth attending.
