What a great start to our 2026 Tax Clinic sessions at USG! We’re proud to partner with the Equity Center’s VITA Program and deeply grateful for the dedicated volunteers who make this valuable service possible for our community.
A special thank you to the students and leadership at the Robert H. Smith School of Business for championing this initiative and ensuring we continue to have highly trained, committed student volunteers year after year. Your leadership and service truly make a difference.
We also extend our appreciation to SECU for sharing valuable financial literacy information with participants during the clinic. Your support helps strengthen the overall impact of this program.

Our USG Food Distributions continue through the Spring 2026 semester!!! See the above flyers for the dates for our Manna Choice Markets & USG Mobile Markets (including our upcoming market THIS MONDAY from 11am to 1pm!).

We are aware of the impacts that recent federal changes have had on our community, and we continue to work and meet the needs of our students and guests. Please see our Food Access Resources webpage at shadygrove.usmd.edu for updates on our offerings as well as additional resources across the county and the state of Maryland. Maryland students and families! The MHEC One-App opens on November 1. Students can apply for various state financial aid programs through the MHEC One-App. Access is available through the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS).

Looking back at yesterday on campus when SECU Gives Back to USG! Team members from SECU branches visited campus to provide free snack bags to students in the morning and supported our Manna Choice Market in the afternoon! Our campus is very thankful for the continued support from the SECU team in supporting our students to be prepared to tackle whatever the school day has for them!

There's good news for Maryland students and families! The 2026-2027 FAFSA form is now available. Everybody should fill out the FAFSA no matter what they want to do after high school. Visit fafsa.gov to complete the application today.

MHEC’s Student Loan Debt Relief Tax Credit application is now open. The Program provides $9 million in tax credits to Maryland taxpayers filing their 2025 tax returns. For a list of qualifications and FAQs, visit https://mhec.maryland.gov/preparing/pages/studentloandebtrelieftaxcredit.aspx. The application deadline is September 15.
