alert! Congrats to alum Scott Forbes '98, who will lead Carolina Baseball to the Men's College World Series finals for the first time since 2007. ⭐

Forbes played under Coach Mike Fox for two years during his time as a Bishop, when he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. Following graduation, Forbes joined Fox to coach at Wesleyan before taking their talents to Carolina in 1999.

He later served as an assistant at Winthrop University before rejoining Fox in 2006. After holding pitching and hitting coach positions for UNC, Forbes was promoted to head coach following Coach Fox's retirement in 2021. He has led the Tar Heels to over 200 career wins, several ACC championships, and multiple playoff appearances.

His time with Coach Fox is remembered fondly, a shared sentiment with many Battling Bishops. We are proud of you, Coach Forbes. Your alma mater is cheering for you. 💙

As the Graduate Assistant for our Compass Center, he’s spending the summer gaining valuable hands-on experience while living on campus and helping make every new student feel at home.

For nearly a decade, NC Wesleyan’s Dr. Brewer has led an after-school program that supports local families of students with disabilities while giving future special education teachers invaluable hands-on experience.

Through the program, teacher candidates provide tutoring and academic support while parents participate in lessons covering topics such as Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), their rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), interpreting assessment data, recognizing academic and behavioral challenges, and becoming effective advocates for their children.

At Wesleyan, our students aren’t just learning how to teach, they’re learning how to empower families, strengthen communities, and make a lasting difference in the lives of children. 📚👩🏾‍🏫📝🌟

As a former member of Wesleyan’s Board of Trustees and Executive Board, Don devoted his time and talents to advancing the University’s mission and supporting future generations of students. Beyond campus, he was widely respected as a business leader, philanthropist, and advocate for the Rocky Mount community, leaving a legacy that extends far beyond any title he held.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Don will remember his dedication to others, his thoughtful leadership, and his belief in investing in the people and organizations that make a difference.

We are grateful for the impact he made on North Carolina Wesleyan University and throughout our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stallings family and all who loved him during this time of loss.

HAPPY WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY! 🗺️💙

In May 2026, the Environmental Science program traveled to Belize for an immersive learning experience focused on conservation, biodiversity, and environmental science. 🌺

The experience brought together members of the NC Wesleyan community who share a passion for environmental stewardship and global learning.

👀 Participants explored Mayan history at Xunantunich, visited the Green Iguana Conservation Project, hiked and canoed through tropical ecosystems near Monkey River, and experienced Belize’s rich marine biodiversity through snorkeling and mangrove kayaking in Caye Caulker.

Throughout the trip, participants observed ocean and freshwater ecosystems, explored human impacts on the environment, and connected classroom concepts to real world conservation challenges. 💧

This experience highlights NC Wesleyan’s commitment to hands on learning, global education, environmental stewardship, and lifelong connections with its graduates.🧬🎓

Under the leadership of Dr. Daniel Elias, students have explored biodiversity, conservation & sustainability in Costa Rica, Iceland & now Belize!
