Today is the National Day for Missing and Murder indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit ( MMIWG2S), this day is also know as Red Dress Day. This day honors women and two spirits who have faced the acts of violence. The ones who have been stolen by their communities. Today is not just about our relatives that we have missing or taken but also bringing the awareness that Native Women are 10x more likely to be missing and murder. This also leads to 95% of the women who have been missing their cases tend to get little to no attention. This is also a day of awareness that MMIP voices matter as well!! Their stories matter!! To be in solidarity wear red today!! To remember all of our relatives that have been stolen from us.

We Remember 🪶

- Emily Pike : Member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, reported missing January 2025; remains found in February 2025 (identified early 2026). She was 14 years old
- Audrey Wilson : Reported missing April 29, 2026, from Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She is 13 years old
- Nicole Elise Richards : Last seen January 17, 2026, in Lakewood, Colorado. She is 38 years old
~~~
Hoy es el Día Nacional de las Mujeres, Niñas y Personas de Dos Espíritus Indígenas Desaparecidas y Asesinadas (MMIWG2S), también conocido como el Día del Vestido Rojo. Este día rinde homenaje a las mujeres y a las personas de dos espíritus que han sufrido actos de violencia, a aquellas que han sido arrebatadas a sus comunidades. Hoy no solo recordamos a nuestros familiares desaparecidos o secuestrados, sino que también queremos concienciar de que las mujeres indígenas tienen diez veces más probabilidades de desaparecer o ser asesinadas.Esto también implica que el 95 % de los casos de mujeres desaparecidas suelen recibir poca o ninguna atención. ¡Este es también un día para concienciar de que las voces de las MMIP también importan! ¡Sus historias importan! ¡Para mostrar tu solidaridad, vístete de rojo hoy! Para recordar a todas nuestras familiares que nos han sido arrebatadas.
