You don't have to correct all the things that are wrong in order to find what's right. Imagine excellence and then imitate. When you do that, the brain will begin to clear away what's not helpful.

I may use scientific investigative procedures for my understanding of a student’s problems, but when I work with a student, if there is a problem which has to be worked out in a body sense, I do it away from the instrument. We do it completely away from music until we establish normal activity and the re-apply it to the instrumental function. But when I am working with a man as a musician, I always work with his mind, not his body. And we don’t stimulate the mind into asking a question, we stimulate it into issuing a statement.
