Help welcome back our winning track and field athletes

The Miner Track and Field team is returning to campus today following a successful showing at the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships. Championship highlights:
• Owen Fraser, a senior in mechanical engineering, won the national title in the shot put, earning First Team All-America honors in both the shot put and weight throw.
• Henry Born, a junior in mining engineering, earned First Team All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the 3,000 meters.
• Otto Knittel, a graduate student in mechanical engineering, finished 10th overall in the heptathlon.
• The distance medley relay team earned First Team All-America honors with a sixth-place national finish, the highest in program history.
The team will arrive on campus at 4:30 p.m. with a welcome-back reception in the Gale Bullman Building parking lot near the Fitness Center entrance. Chief Roberts will es**rt the team from the highway to campus.
Faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to gather in the Gale Bullman Building parking lot to welcome the team home and recognize this national achievement.
