Missouri S&T Miner Baja SAE was founded in 2005 at what was then UMR (University of Missouri-Rolla) by some ambitious engineering students. It has since given hundreds of students an opportunity to improve their education, their project experiences, and themselves professionally.

Welcome to the first annual Mars Rover vs. Miner Baja SAE Co****le competition! It was an eventful night that brought our teams closer together. The night ended with Miner Baja taking home the trophy. Until next time Mars Rover!

Over June 13 and June 27 our team had the pleasure of talking to so many incoming freshman. We wish all of them the best during their upcoming school year and hope to see them in the fall. Thank you everyone for stopping by!

With the semester coming to a close the team deep cleaned our pit so that way we are ready to get straight to work when we come back. That being said, work to get the car competition ready has not come to a stop.

On Friday our team got the privilege of driving a couple of our cars through the experiential mine at the school. This allowed us to test through different obstacles we usually can’t be experience elsewhere. It also allowed us to learn different faults our car currently has, and even what works after we have upgraded its components. Our team would also like to thank Fab Heavy Parts for the Deutsch connectors and wire crimpers that allowed us to be able to drive through the mud and creeks with the guarantee our wiring was safe.

So much has happened this past weekend. Our team has done a lot of dividing and conquering. A lot of the electrical work has been worked on and redone, new and lighter shielding has been worked on, and machining of parts for our current car and for the new car. The restoration of a past car, Kermit, was also worked on this weekend by revamping the sponsor stickers on her panels.

This past weekend our team was hard at work getting our current car running and ready. Everyone divided and conquered various tasks to efficiently get everything completed. We had people welding, working on machines, fixing car components, and getting new
electronics ready to be put on the car!

A couple weeks ago a few members of our team got the opportunity to assist in doing technical inspections on the rally cars for the 100 Acre Woods Rally. It was a great time that allowed us to learn about different parts that go into making a rally car safe and usable. Thank you American Rally Association for this amazing opportunity.
