On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. We remember their courage, their sacrifice and the families who carry their legacy forward.

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” — John F. Kennedy

One day hardly feels like enough, but today we stop and give our deepest thanks.

at Berry has us smiling about Alumni Work Week, where this year’s group gathered in front of Ford Dining Hall Monday to celebrate a week of service, connection and shared purpose.

From caring for campus to preserving Berry’s history, 82 alumni and friends contributed more than 1,000 hours of work, all rooted in the same spirit that has defined Work Week since 1985. The moments captured here reflect not only what was accomplished, but the friendships renewed and the traditions carried forward.

Take a look at the full recap, photo gallery and video to relive the week and the impact this community continues to make: https://alwaysberry.com/blog/alumni-work-week-2026

This year’s Silver and Blue Celebration was more than an Alumni Weekend dinner. It was a celebration of Ross Magoulas, beloved choir director and friend. Naturally we had to end the evening with the singing of the Alma Mater. At 95, he still directs our Berry voices beautifully.

Far up in the hills of Georgia stands
Old Berry tried and true,
The Shrine of many a memory of
The Silver and the Blue.

Our loyalty and love we pledge,
God keep thee without fail,
Be thou the light that shines for right,
Alma Mater, Hail, All Hail!

Springtime at Berry means true colors everywhere you turn—blue skies over stone, green lawns beneath white columns, warm brick in the sunshine, and even a friendly fawn or two. No wonder it’s the most beautiful campus in the world!

Today is , and we are grateful for these seniors who spent countless hours in Ford supporting the Berry Alumni Office.

As a group, they contributed 22 semesters and seven summers, plus a few holiday breaks, and even survived at least one full work week together. Their commitment, energy and care for Berry made a lasting impact.

Thank you to McKinley Chappell, recipient of the Male Student Supervisor of the Year Award; Natalie “Dai” Parker, our graphic designer and creative force behind so many standout stickers; and Manny Estevez, Gate student and former pickleball rival. We appreciate your hard work, patience, dedication, service and laughter over the past four years.

We look forward to cheering you on as you step beyond the Gate of Opportunity tomorrow!
