Aletheia Johnson is dedicated to serving others through compassion, advocacy, and restorative justice.

As a Social Work graduate from Lewis University College of Education and Social Sciences, Aletheia developed a deeper understanding of what it means to be a helping professional through her studies in Social Work and Peace & Justice. In recognition of her commitment to service and social change, she was awarded the De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Justice Advocacy.

After graduation, Aletheia plans to work within the justice system, advocating for rehabilitation and reintegration while supporting individuals often overlooked by society. She will also continue her educational journey this fall by pursuing a Master of Social Work at .

From to fossil research in South Dakota, Octavio Ortiz is turning his passion for biology into a lifelong mission to better understand and protect the natural world.

As a Biology graduate, Octavio believes that understanding the natural world is the first step toward preserving it. During his time at Lewis, he gained valuable hands-on experience conducting research, presenting scientific findings, and exploring the field of biodiversity conservation. These opportunities helped prepare him for the next stage of his academic and professional journey.

A graduate of Joliet Central High School (Joliet Township High School District 204) and a resident of Plainfield, lllinois, Octavio will continue pursuing his passion for evolutionary science through a museum internship at the Mammoth Site Museum. He then plans to attend graduate school to earn a PhD in Evolutionary Biology and hopes to one day become a university faculty member, where he can continue conducting research while inspiring future generations of scientists through teaching.

Ashley Miller is turning her passion for science, wildlife, and conservation into a future dedicated to protecting the natural world.

As a Biology and Environmental Science graduate from , Ashley gained valuable experience through research, leadership opportunities, coursework, and extracurricular involvement, preparing her to enter the field as a professional.

After graduation, Ashley plans to pursue a career in field biology and research, using her knowledge and hands-on experience to advocate for wildlife conservation while working as a field technician.
