Recap of the 2024 Air Race:

We were so glad that we could participate in this years air race with the support of Lewis University and our sponsor CABAA Chicago Area Business Aviation Association CABAA! Thank you to everyone who played a role in creating this unforgettable experience for us including those who we met along the way.

This race has had such an important impact on us as pilots and challenged us in ways that we did not expect nor would have experienced if we did not participate, and for that we are grateful.

We have learned so much, not only about air racing, but about ourselves, our aircraft, and what we as pilots are capable of doing. This race allowed us to safely push ourselves as pilots and strengthened both our mental and physical flying abilities.

We were faced with a tough decision to end the race with a score of “did not finish” (DNF), due to stormy weather that we both agreed was our of our comfort zone to fly through. Although it was difficult, we stand by the decision we made and could not be more proud!

Thanks to everyone who followed along on our journey, and we cannot wait for next years race!

The past couple days have been very long as we had to stay another night due to storms and spent most of Monday with the maintenance team in CO getting our plane worked on. On our way back, we stopped in Kearney, Nebraska and Marshalltown, Iowa for some fuel and flew a total of 7.9 hours home✈️

Day 1 of briefings for the ARC! Today we went over rules and regulations along our route including some unfamiliar airspace and terrain that we don’t normally fly in. We also did some flyby studying with some fellow racers (and got more ice cream)🍦 We ended the night at the Takeoff Banquet, where we got an awesome dinner and learned how to swing dance!💃
