In honor of UWest's 30th Anniversary, I (Monica Sanford) would like to revive the UWest Alumni Association page and invite all the UWest almuni I know to share their stories here. Where have you gone since UWest? What impact did your UWest education have on your life? Consider celebrating the 30th Anniversary of our school by tuning in to the event tomorrow, sharing your story, inviting other alumni you know to join this page, or donating to UWest. Let's keep our school going for another 30 years!

This week UWest will hold our 30th anniversary celebration on Thursday, April 21, 2022. We are honored to welcome our donors, supporters, and local dignitaries. We have a lively program planned with musical performances, a retrospective video, certificate presentations, and a library and garden dedication ceremony. We invite all students, alumni, faculty, and staff to join us in this monumental celebration. International & Interfaith Week schedule is out! What are you most excited for?

Attend as many events as you can to receive raffle tickets. We will be raffling off 3 UWest gift baskets filled with UWest goodies at Friday's potluck! Don't miss out!

UWest will be recruiting in the Midwest in October. Cities we are considering include Chicago, Milwaukee, Omaha, St. Louis, and Kansas City. I need everyone to help me network. Are there particular sanghas, centers, temples, or high schools in those cities that would be willing to host a visit? We can give a presentation on a variety of topics based on the interests of the audience.

We recieved our second postcard today from Holly in Portland, OR, who graduated in 2013 with an MDiv in Buddhist Chaplaincy. Holly is providing spiritual care as a hospice chaplain. Our first postcard arrived! It is from Jacob in Portland, OR, USA, who graduated with a BA in psychology in 2013. He went on to get an MA in psychology and is now working in the neurology department of a major hospital doing important research! Go, Jacob! Please write to us and tell us how YOU are doing. A few alumni were fortunate to participate in the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) educational effectiveness review this afternoon. It was great remembering our wonderful time at UWest and sharing our experience with the review team!
