The Chaplaincy Department recently went on a pilgrimage to five Buddhist temples around Los Angeles, including the International Buddhist Meditation Center, Vietnamese Buddhist Temple, Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara, Ming Ya Buddhist Association, and Prajna Gate Buddhist Korean Temple. Thank you to each temple for welcoming our students and making this experience so meaningful!

Commencement 2026 was a warm and joyous celebration, uniting families, friends, faculty, staff, UWest trustees, and special guests to honor our newest graduates. A special salute to undergraduate valedictorian Andy Le (Ven. Tinh Lien) and graduate valedictorian Mehryar Parsi. Heartfelt thanks to Mr. Kenny Chung and family and every supporter and donor who helped make this academic year outstanding.

Summer break begins this week. Campus offices remain open, and Summer Session starts May 26. Until then, have a wonderful start to your summer!

The REL Department organized an end-of-semester party today to celebrate the successful completion of the term and recognize everyone’s hard work and accomplishments. Faculty and students gathered to enjoy food and conversation in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The event provided an opportunity for everyone to connect, reflect on the semester, and look forward to the upcoming break and future departmental activities. 😄

Yesterday, students, faculty, and staff showed up in solidarity with survivors for Denim Day at Founder’s Courtyard. The shared energy, support, and sense of community made the afternoon truly impactful. Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped make a difference. 💙
